This cocktail table is a take on a 17th century Ming Dynasty Luohan daybed. This table adapts its design predecessor to create a modern silhouette. Theodore Alexander’s use of Amara ebony on this table has some of the grain features of the original wood. A nod to the Huanghuali ancestry. The strong mahogany legs support the sunburst inlaid top and the offset sunburst subverts the traditional pattern and creates additional directional movement.
